Gillius Thunderhead

I started to create my own versions of Golden Axe´s 2 characters. When I was a kid and teenager, I used to play this game a lot and probably it was one of the things that got me interested in fantastic worlds and the medieval period. It planned to be a series of characters starting with the three main heroes, and after that a collection with the big boss and his minions.

Gillius is an old white bearded dwarf warrior who is always in charge to protect the Golden Axe and, once it fell in his enemy´s hands, he has the duty to get it back from evil, fighting Dark Guld´s armies, which are giant hordes of terrible creatures. As he is a very short and strong dwarf, his face is pretty near to the ground so I wanted to put some black painting around his eyes so that he can reduce the reflexions and make his vision clearer during battle. I also like the idea of animals and beasts used as ornaments for weapons and armory, something I brought strongly into the universe.
